Launch a Project Animal Freedom chapter in your community!

Why build chapters?

To build community.

Roughly two-thirds of the major metro areas across the Midwest still lack a local animal rights organization. We address this deficit by launching chapters and building thriving animal rights communities, often from scratch.

To build momentum.

We need to build a mass movement for animal freedom. Every chapter injects new activists into the movement, generates local buzz around animal rights, and grows our overall momentum for a fully vegan Midwest.

To maximize impact.

Each chapter serves as a vital animal rights hub for their community, organizing over a dozen vegan community-building and outreach events a year. These actions, when sustained across dozens of cities, can transform the Midwest.

Compassionate Cities Campaign

Through our Compassionate Cities Campaign, we recruit, train, and advise chapter organizers, helping them build community more quickly and successfully than they would on their own.

We pair each chapter organizer with a chapter coordinator who meets with them once every week or every other week to provide personalized, one-on-one advice for growing their chapter. These sessions generally last 30-60 minutes, providing an invaluable opportunity to hone ideas, refine tactics, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Chapter organizers can seek additional help via text, email, phone call, and various messaging services. By regularly advising organizers, we enhance chapter outcomes while nurturing organizers’ growth as lifelong animal advocates.

Chapter support

We offer a variety of support services to our chapters. Here are some of them:

  • personalized, one-on-one advice

  • mentoring and coaching

  • organizing guides

  • event supplies

  • funding
